Phantom of the Opera - thoughts?

What do you think of when you hear the title The Phantom of the Opera?

I've got a new project in the works, one that is something of a re-interpretation of the Phantom story. I recently posted a short scene ( [link] ) but I'm really uncertain about the title. I'm calling it Opera Ghost currently, but I'm not sure I like that. It feels incomplete somehow.

I'm open to suggestions for a title. Here are some of the ones I've been considering:
- Masquerade
- Ghost Light
- Phantoms
- Opera Ghost

Again, none of them seem quite right. I'd love some feedback.

As for how the project began, it came to me in a roundabout way. It's a story that has been retold over and over, but never the same way twice. I caught a film version I hadn't seen before while surfing channels a few weeks back, one that was made prior to the famous Musical (i.e. in the 70's). It occurred to me that there really hasn't been a decent version made that is set in a modern setting. I couldn't stop thinking about it, so I started jotting down notes and came up with this:

In modern day New York City, a hole-in-the-wall theatre gets its hands on the coveted rights to the Lloyd-Webber musical, but then, of course, strange things start happening, though not to the star singing the lead of Christine in the show, nor her understudy. To the Stage Manager whose name is Christine. But the strangest thing of all? She is the aspiring composer and he, the unseen "opera ghost," is the undiscovered thespian.

Again, any feedback would be great; and let me know, too, what things you most directly associate with the story/show.

Hhmmm...well when I think of Phatom of the Opera, I usually think of the romance and seduction and sensuality that the story contains, especially around the Phantom character.
As for the title, I think going with whatever the name of the Theatere in your story is. It might be simple, but it could work.

I was thinking of calling it the "Stagelights Theatre," and maybe titling the story Stagelights. What do you think?

That could work, actually...
How would you twist it?
