The costumes and sets are amazing. Especially on "One Short Day [in the Emerald City]" where they totally dazzle up the stage with light and green, and an enormous sign that reads, "OZ."
There are so many hillarious little innuendos throughout the play. For instance, Glinda saying to Dorothy and Company: "that's right, just follow that one road the whole way there ... oh, dear, I hope they don't get lost...I'm so bad at giving directions..."
And Elphaba's retort to Glinda's remark about flying around on her broom: "Well, we can't all of us can come and go by bubble."
But my fav is: "You'll see your Auntie Em and Uncle Whatever when you just take off the shoes! What kind of a person walks off with a dead woman's shoes? Stupid girl, must have been raised in a barn..."
I still wish I could have seen Idina Menzel as Elphaba and Kristen Chenowith as Glinda - but the girls my friend and I did see where pretty amazing.
And, yes, I bought souvenirs. How could I not? A t-shirt that says "Defying Gravity," acoffee mug and a keychain.
I didn't so much care for the book, but the show is FABULOUS.
Until next time, defy gravity!!

I would have looooooooooooooooved to see Idina, though. that would have been awesomeness. From what i've seen on YouTube (
Either way, it was a great production. I definitely want to see it again the next time it's in town!!

No matter how subtle the wizard,
a knife between the shoulder blades
will seriously cramp his style...
